If you're moving into Let's Plays I am all over it! Especially if it's short, niche stuff like this that I wouldn't end up getting myself, although would be happy with longer stuff too. BTW - he's a private detective, P.I.s don't work for the police, that's why they're private! Also, that setting at the very beginning will make the dialogue progress to the next part automatically, rather than waiting for you to press something to move on.

i honestly kinda stopped playing new horizons. im not burned out or anything but after 4 years ive just moved on to other games and other things.

Honestly, I'm left wondering if we'll get an New Horizons DX on Switch 2 with everything missing from the OG Switch version. Be it an upgrade fee or if we can migrate our islands to take advantage of new features, more building upgrades, and multiplayer games like from New Leaf would be a HUGE shot in the arm for it. I mean, seeing fully decked out islands just TANK the OG Switch performance is disappointing. So much potential.

What I’ve been saying since April of 2020. I got into the series about 11 years ago with the release of new leaf in 2013 so Im not the oldest veteran player out there. But I have over the years played every entry. City folk, wild world, GameCube. Each game I have thoroughly enjoyed. When new horizons came out, after a month I just couldn’t do it anymore. But I felt as I was in such a weird predicament. Because the game I had played for years was finally getting recognition. But new horizons was just?? A boring sandwich besides decorating?? And after the 2 years of updates, I just didn’t even see it fit to come back. Now recently I’ve started up a city folk town again after years and I’m playing that a ton, it’s unfortunate because I do kinda think animal crossing is gonna lean further into decorating. However I’m glad I grew up with the games that I did ❤️

I will say, I think a lot of the criticisms ACNH gets are too harsh but I think what you said is very valid and I honestly agree with you on a lot of this. I’ve been playing since the GameCube days (have played every mainline game except Wild World) and I do think they went too far in the direction of decorating this time. That said, I still absolutely love ACNH and think it’s an incredible game. To me, every AC game has its pros and cons but the series as a whole has always been there for me. Every game holds a lot of memories for me. There are things I definitely miss from the older games, but there are also things ACNH does really well that the other games don’t. Overall you did great work on this video and I was so happy to see this upload! (UA-cam didn’t show me until 3 days after the upload for some reason)

Luckily, I didn't have a ton of time to dedicate solely to gaming overall in the last few years since im in college, so ACNH is always my go to for relaxation and its basically all I play at this point because I've still yet to finish an island to satisfactory conditions for myself. I just kinda vibe as I go and im thankful to not have any real story to follow or anything to worry about at all at this point.

Something I've thought about regarding villagers leaving the island is that I think what they do should depend on your relationship with them. Like, if you're not particularly close, they'll just leave, but if you're great friends they'll come to talk to you about it first. I think it would be great to see more interactions based on how you socialize with your villagers.

I think that now that the devs have gotten a lot of decoration and customization options in the game, they should focus on the social stuff, and expanding on what you can do with villagers from day-to-day. One thing I have to give New Horizons over the other games (and I don't know if this is an unpopular opinion or not), is that I much prefer the graphics to the older games. In particular, I've never been satisfied with having to play a human avatar before now as I thought they were ugly for most of the games.

I’m so glad it’s not just me 😬 I’m an animal crossing die hard from the original DS and this is the first one where just like you said I felt “burnt out” like the fundamentals had changed and I wasn’t quite sure what I was supposed to do any more. I didn’t actually like the terraforming as it just felt like too much, I didn’t want to have to bulldoze my whole island and start again I liked having the natural island. And yeah the upgrades I thought they were going to do so much more :(
